“The truth is the best picture!”
The artist has been focusing mainly on the area of Los Angeles. The exhibition L.A. Stories provides the viewer with deep insights into the world of the stars of Hollywood.
For example the actresses Natalie Portman and Penelope Cruz can be seen in a very moving moment during an award presentation. We experience how legend William Shatner spends time on his horse ranch. And of course there are many more private insights into the lives of celebrities whom the artist had the opportunity to visit at home. Manfred Baumann chose how to present his prominent and interesting subjects so as to provide not only a staged but also an unobserved point of view. This approach is intended to facilitate different ways of looking at celebrities and capturing their fame and glamor from various perspectives
Over the past two years, he has completed a vast number of photo shoots in L.A., the results of which can be seen in L.A. Stories. He focused on two different ideas in this project: beautiful simple but expressive portraits on the one hand, and the view of an outside observer who sees the stars interacting with each other on the other.
